Re: QBI Bonus and Founders Platinum Bonus

To whom it may concern,

We are writing you today to inquire about our Founders Platinum and QBI bonuses. To date, we have not received either of these bonuses. We have called your company several times to inquire about these bonuses. Each time we have encountered a similar response, “all bonuses affiliated with Team IBO’s are under review”. I didn’t realize the IBO’s affiliated with Team had different qualifications of those not affiliated with Team.

In May of ’07 my husband and I attended your Platinum Conference. We had a wonderful time, and your company laid out the red carpet for us. Your staff and the service went above and beyond to make our stay informative and enjoyable. We were informed there, by one of your staff members, that we were right on track for our QBI and Founders Platinum bonuses. According to our QBI tracking report for August of ’07, we are eligible for that bonus. To the best of my knowledge, 12 qualified months in 1 fiscal year also qualifies us for a Founders Platinum bonus.

We were independent business owners with your company for almost three years. As far as we know, we were business owners in good standing. Therefore, we fail to understand why you are holding our bonuses. As you know, the end of the year is rapidly approaching and we would greatly appreciate a response to this correspondence, in writing, which explains what exactly is being reviewed about our qualifications for these bonuses.

We appreciate your attention to this matter.

Sincerely,

Dominic & Terry Zettel

QBI money and trips are offered and paid at Quixtar's sole discretion. If you would like to appeal Quixtar's decision not to pay, you may seek conciliation through Quixtar's dispute resolution process.

Looks like they are still messing with people's lives and withholding bonuses. I know there are some TROs out saying that they cannot withhold the bonuses, but not everyone is protected by them.

UPDATE: Check out SisterSam's great analysis of this on QSSR by clicking the link: http://qssr.blogspot.com/2007/12/sole-discretion.html

Ya, that's probably true.
I didn't earn a QBI, so I just pray that my Platinums and Emerald get theirs.

None of them have jobs at this point.

I am not a Quixtar distributor, although I have a keen interest and have been following all issues Amway. I appreciate your candor, which is rare among many of the fleeced flock.

My opinion is that Quixtar's disappearing act is more than a name change. Quixtar has basically collapsed as a marketing strategy. I believe Alticor/Amway has shaken down their IBO (self consumption customers) and now are shaking out the disgruntled. They will continue to fleece the remaining sheep. I believe they plan to follow a more direct selling approach. After all, if they reduce their prices to market competitive levels, they may as well cut out the middle men and sell directly to the public. Fanista, I believe is a market testing strategy. Presently the public can now circumvent IBOs and purchase directly from the

Quixtar/Amway website portal. Seems like the recent advertising I've seen in some of the women's mags that my wife buys to would lead potential customers to deal directly with Amway (Not attempt to find that nameless faceless IBO. Hmmmm? Do you trust Quixtar for your fair share of these sales? Do you believe that PV from these inside sales are being accredited down the Amway food chain? The old cash cow kingpins maybe. I don't think Amway minds shaking these diamond level people out either.

The Amway business recruitment (scam) does have a bad rep in the states, but Amway products (for what ever reason) have been perceived as being of high quality. Although I do not like much of what I've had. (The XS drinks and the crappy energy bars are horrid! and my wife returned her artistry purchases to her IBO daughter and son in law because she didn't like them.) Anyway, Amway can easily shake out existing reps by changing the deal and removing the Quixtar mask.

If anyone is in Quixtar, they are still being shaken down by Amway for their self consumption revenue. There is little chance of success marketing products from your home and recruitment will continue to be like running up a down escalator, only Amway has increased the speed downward into a free fall.

@quixtarisacult

I want to thank you for reading my blog and let you know that I agree with much of what you said. I don't think Quixtar is a cult, but the other information you presented was very factual.

And you are right Quixtar has, or is "collaps[ing] as a marketing strategy," and there are many reasons behind this.

I feel that Network Marketing in general has not lost its place, it just needs to be setup so that outside network customers are buying products which would require lower prices. (Quixtar does 3.4% retail sales.) There are many ideas out there, and I believe one will be implemented very well over the process of the next couple years.

hurting inside... I didn't exactly say quixtar is a cult in my comment, but it must be obvious I feel that way from the name I use, and yes, I do believe the motivational organizations use cult like tactics.

Steve Hassan, a renown expert on cults agrees. This is one area that does create a lot of disagreement when it is raised as a issue with Amway first and now Quixtar. You will have to admit that Quixtar reps are inundated with motivational information--programming--and are schooled to ignore the negative in print or in the media. They generally exclude persons with negative views of Quixtar/Amway from their lives. Generally, this may include, relatives, friends, co workers, neighbors. They tend to isolate themselves and many times become overly reliant for upline direction. All cult like behaviors.

I don't consider myself expert enough to describe all the cult elements that are in play with the organization. Quixtar faithful do have very absolute faith and confidence in their system, and many times continue to press forward in a losing cause long after many others would call it quits. They seem to worship the tool kingpins and others who have attained the diamond and higher levels of the business. They follow advice to exclude negative products from their home.

I am just touching on some of the things I notice (in general) about the fleeced flock. All persons are different, and many times I find people who are not closed minded that are in the business. They, though, in my opinion are not typical. Their goal of being 100% devoted and sold on the business leaves no room for doubt, and borders on mind control. Reps fall into the "See No Evil, Hear No Evil, and Speak No Evil" category of person's who seem to have lost the ability to reason normally. To weigh pros and cons and arrive at correct conclusions. They act like the donkey chasing the carrot and never seem to realize that as they walk forward the stick moves the carrot just that much farther forward.

I do enjoy reading and seeing thoughtful comment as I have found on your blog. Without differing view points to challenge the thought process we couldn't progress toward wisdom. I have been publishing many of my thoughts on my blog quixtarisacultintervention.blogspot.com and I've love to have you comment on my site.
